Floresta de Tropical Melbourne
The Aroid Society of Australia is proud to present Floresta de Tropical (translating to “rainforest” in Portugese), a plant fair celebrating the beauty of foliage and flowers, and all the people who love them. This is a market for all growers of rare and unusual plants, and innovative or handmade plant-related businesses, to connect with plant enthusiasts, novice and expert alike. Applications are now open for vendors at our Melbourne Floresta de Tropical on October 25-26, 2025, with bump in on Friday October 24.

Our venue, the art deco style Coburg Town Hall was built in 1922, located in the heart of Coburg at 90 Bell Street. Close to the historic Pentridge precinct, Sydney Road shopping strip and public transport. With 600sqm of Hall space, plus the concert halls, foyer and stage, there is so much room for generous stalls to showcase your business or organisation. Along with stalls, we are seeking expressions of interest for workshops and speakers.
We welcome all small plant and plant-related businesses to apply, preference will be given to those who grow or make their products themselves. Applications close on July 1, 2025, with all applicants emailed regarding their spot by July 12, 2025. If successful, an invoice will be issued by Aroid Society of Australia for a 50% deposit payable in 14 days from invoice, with the remaining balance due by October 1, 2025.
Stall Fees
Stalls are priced as low as possible, and only available for the full 2-day event. Stalls are priced at $25/sqm. We will have the following sizes of stalls available (please note that discounted rates are available for current financial ASA member-owned businesses of $20/sqm and NFP plant societies of $15/sqm):
3x3m (9sqm): $225 (NFP $135 / ASA $180)
3x6m (18sqm): $450 (NFP $270 / ASA $360)
3x8m (24sqm): $600 (NFP $360 / ASA $480)
4x6m (24sqm): $600 (NFP $360 / ASA $480)
6x6m (36sqm): $900 (NFP $540 / ASA $720)
6x9m (54sqm): $1350 (NFP $810 / ASA $1080)
Workshops
No initial fee with a percentage paid to ASA per participant; all attendee ticket sales to be processed via ASA through Eventbrite (prior to event) or Square (on the day):
Stallholder: 20% per participant
NFP/ASA stallholder: 10% per participant
Non-stallholder: 30% per participant
Speakers
We are looking for interesting presentations in specialised fields to appeal to novice and intermediate plant enthusiasts. Presentation topics are submitted to Floresta subcommittee for approval. Approved speakers will receive a 10% discount on their stall fees. These presentations are offered to attendees for free, with no expense to the speaker.
