We are pleased to invite you to the Aroid Society of Australia (ASA) Melbourne Winter 2025 Meetup. This will be a fantastic opportunity to catch up with other plant lovers, as well as lots of fun things to look forward to.
Plant Sales
Our ever-popular ASA member plant sales are happening again, with some great offerings for new and seasoned collectors alike. Please bring a box or bag to carry your purchases. EFTPOS facilities will be available for those wishing to purchase on the day (cash also accepted). Please note: only current ASA members are eligible to sell plants, but all attendees are welcome to purchase.
Guest Speaker
We are excited to announce that our guest speaker for the event will be Peter Eggler from Tankquility. Peter has spent many years collecting, cataloguing, researching and identifying aquatic and semiaquatic plants, focusing on growing many of these in emerse, terrarium conditions from his small nursery in Northern NSW. He maintains an extensive collection of aquatic aroids, rare species of Echinodorus and Begonia, and countless other aquarium and terrarium plants.
Peter will be presenting a talk to attendees on Emerse Cultivation of Semiaqautic Aroids: Cryptocoryne and Bucephalandra. These diminutive aroids offer a veritable jewel box of colours and can be grown in terrarium culture, despite their popularity in aquascaping. This will be a fascinating talk for collectors and novices alike. We’re also very fortunate that Peter will be bringing a selection of these wonderful plants for purchase at the event.
